hopefully most will understand me. Anyway i have an opportunity to purchase a 90 Prelude 4WS. Right now the motor might be blown but i think its just something simple and i can fix it. I am buying the car and getting a second complete engine for 450.00 american. The cars in decent shape and i will have a second 4WS i can pull parts from. The engine is a B20a9 and in the states they came with a b20a5 so i think the motor has be replaced before. The recycle yard were its at on one of the military base, the guy said it just doesnt start and the owner didnt know how to fix it. I going to check it out and if the motors gone like i said i will have a running engine to go in it. Any one know what i can do to get a few more hp out the car. Can a B16 DOHC vtec head be swapped on the engine? Probably a header and intakes is all i am going to do, its just going to be a cheap daily driver so i can build my Civic Si up.

i canīt help you about the hp, but actually the 90 + 91 preludes had a b20a9 engine, at least in germany. the b20a5 engine was only used, as far as i know, in thje 88 + 89 preludes.

the B20A9 Engine was used in all 1990-1991 European Prelude. In the US-Modell, it came with the B20A5 from 1988-1991. The B21A1 was installed in the 2.05SI from 1990-1991. An B16 or B18 Head can be installed, but it is not easy, you must Modify something else. Swap an H22A in the Lude itīs easier

Thanks, yeah a H22 i figured would be a easier swap. I just have an extra b16 head and intake manifold so i thought maybe i could build a hybrid.
