Hihi, nice brakes! Do they fit 15" Wheels?

edit: Ah I used google :-) 11inch are circa 280mm, so they should fit under 15". Damn hot, but I guess in germany it is not possible to drive them legal because of the german TÜV :-/

damn, amazing work!

and really angry that your glas on the glas top is broken. what did you do? do you buy a new glas top? or did you have other options like plexiglas/ macrolon?!

i know, that they are not cheap handled.

really nice project men. you have many parts on your car, where i am looking for

Thanks for all the replays :-)
About wilwood they do fit under 15" that was the main reason why I wanted to buy those and have great stopping power and are very lightweight product.

About glass top :sad::sad: I was working on removal at least three days, very carefull cutting it and when everything was almost cut I had just rear corners to cut and glass would be out (mastic was attached at least 5cm from metal corner deep) so I cut one corner easy and nice but on second corner when I was cutting I guess I touched corner of glass with knife and hurt it (it make that horrible sound - hrskkkk) and when I finished with cutting there was already 2-3cm crack in glass very small, but since I was so mad for cracking it I just pulled it out with force and crack became as big as it is now...resolution for this problem will be take mold from this glass and then make carbon/kevlar product and put that one in...main reason for doing that instead of buying new glass is, car will be used for track days and if all will go nice for hill climbs hoby groupe...so there're lots of chances to break glass with halmet (seen that done alread in States to one guy)...

if you have any more question feel free to ask

AndrEE
14.05.2008, 20:44
you make the work to build the new top into your car and you´ll take now carbon?

this top is so rare...dont filling the top with carbon...search for a new glas ...thats my opinion.

i think, when you build up the ee8 for track....why you didn´t buy a complete carbon top and the glas top?! :-)

greetings andre

edit: sorry for my bad english :(

koshir
14.05.2008, 22:57
The thing is that I did glass top cause it's light and it looks awesome, car already has "glass top" mounted all parts exept glass (had to do lots of work cause all roof is replaced), I will be replacing just glass with lightweight carbon/kevlar shaped like glass (I'll take mold out of glass and make product) car will look like it has glass top but you won't be able to see through...this glass from glass top is brown color-shade so is carbon/kevlar so I'll get the look that I want and car will get strenght that it needs...

Kevlar hood (I'll use this material so it'll shine like glass)

Mold is done,
now I have to fine sand the interior and fix some spots and then polish it to fine gloss so products will be 1A quality...

it's very heavy and strong so I hope the product will be very very accurate

Finally got another part that was very very high on my wish list...
FULL RACE traction bar since $ was very low compare to EUR I decide it's time to buy this very "expencive" part (for what it is, pipes and uniballs)...
I was waiting almost 4month to get it, cause of shipping to EU and delivery in USA problems....

and got another part spoon copy mirrors, will put those on just cause of lightweight factor, will have those on until I figure something else...

there was big problem with shipping cause part is longer than 1.05m and can't go with ordinary post that has normal prices for shipping (USPS) so when the seller checked delivery to EU via DHL,UPS and other private firms it was like 200$+ so I asked guy in here that imports cars from USA if he'd buy it for me and put it in container, so I got it very cheap to my place.

(I waited for this bar for 7month cause first seller-shop fucked up deal and the guy in states has to get money back - refund and oreder it from another seller -- quite a story, but now I have it here and that is all that matters  )

hi koshir,

nice to see that your car is anymore under construction :D

i´ve 2 questions to the traction bar.

- i only see one fixing point. (the oem traction bar behind ed/ee is different and has two fixing points...) is that really for the ee series? because i doesnt see until now a traction bar for the ee´s. (for example innovativemounts)

- whats about your gear box holder?

anymore success, fun and good luck with your project.

think you must visit www.civicvtec.org when you search ee/ef drivers all over the world

2 questions

- i only see one fixing point. (the oem traction bar behind ed/ee is different and has two fixing points...)

There are 4 fixing points on one side, 3 screws go where the tow hook is and 1 goes where old traction bar was fixed

is that really for the ee series? because i doesnt see until now a traction bar for the ee´s. (for example innovativemounts)

I'ts just for ED chasiss (D seria engines) so for all chasiss that don't have B16A1 original in...

- whats about your gear box holder?

I don't have it cause I have HASport mounts (D to B seria swap) and engine is just on three mounts (NO front mount)

@Andree
all right. the innovative mounts traction bar is only for ED chassis. i asked them about one for our EE/EF chassis, but still didn't get any answer :|

this full race traction bar has the best design what you can get... the 4 mountings on each side prevent the bar of twisting and torsion. really great!
we also looked for something like this for your EE9, but as you can see, the import is pretty difficult for a private person.
so we saved some money and built one similar to the design of full race. as soon as i get a good welder, you will get such a traction bar, too

@richi:
the most important and most stressed part on traction bar is uniball or may I say it's mounting point (that hand that isa ttached to uniball and that screws into left and righ bars - 4pieces))...

you can "easily" do strong bars, yours is good example but then you must buy strong uniballs and those are quite expencive...

What I like at full race is their quote:

" Full Race Traction bars are CAD designed. They are engineered with a factor of safety (FOS) of 5, meaning they are 5 times stronger than they need to be. "

It's a shame that they don't do it for EE chasiss cause lot's of folks in EU would buy it without hesitation

thanks for all comments :-)

yes, the uniballs are important. we used M12 high-quality uniballs. left-hand thread one the rear side, and right-hand thread in the front so we can adjust the radius arms... these are made of 7075 aluminium and the front journal was aligned to the inner journal of the front lower control arm. as full-race explaines on their site, this aligned journal is very important for the traction of the wheel...
my brother is a bachelor of science and he simulatet our construction on the computer - we came out with a bent of 0,5mm in the middle of the traction bar with powers that work at full braking. i think that's ok

waiting for some parts to arrive so I can finally put car on the wheels

more done on car...
waiting for new "nuts" (for shocks, upper front arms...) to arrive so I can replace old one with new ones...

and I just found out that I won't be able to fit 15" Mugen MR5 that I have at home, won't clear breaks :( :( :( I hope that I won't have problems with Regamasters (fingers crossed)

some good and some bad news...

Good: Mugen MR5s will go on with spacers like Hadtstec mentioned.
Bad: those will go on but just with 16V knuckles, there is no way I can mod Wilwood kit so it'll fit iVT knuckles, so today I got 16V knuckles and test fit everything, it all fits perfect now...but now I have to do all over again, buy 16V knuckles (getting set on Monday) buy new bearings and lower ball joints + sanblast and powder coat them...that means lots $$$ to be spent...again

http://www.wilwood.com/Start/pdf/ds491.pdf

on this site it says it's mouned correct, I also had tarox g88 before and was installed the same, if I think correct reason for that is: dust from pads goes out of discs and if it were mounted oposite dust would go into center of discs and also it would be eating pads abnormaly...

thanks for comments...

new 16V knuckles are already in workshop ready for beeing sandblasted and powdercoated and hubs are already sandblasted and will be zink coated in next two days...just waiting for ARP extened wheel studs to arrive and again all new honda parts (bearings and lower ball joints)

and for the record, for now I'm totally disapointed with KW susspension, I bought V3 version that should be good, shitty thing comes with linear in front and progressive springs on back and that sucks big time, and right now this set up on photos is the lowest setting adviced by KW :-o:-o:-o what the f... .

I don't worry about front cause it'll get more kg with engine and everything that goes along, but the rear end will get max 80kg and that is really max cause every window will be from lexan and roof from kevlar and then bumper, lights and lighweight exhaust and that is it...

... rear spring is so stiff that it won't band under CRX rear end weight, even when I sit on it (90kg) it bands minimum maybe 1-2cm ... when I lift car that's it maybe shock piston goes up for 1cm and then tire is in the air...

now I have to buy linear springs and helper springs for back, so it'll at least be half decent suspension for road and track and for desert I'm waiting for technical support from KW for 6days now :roll::roll:

:(:(:(

Damn I followed this project a few years back on Honda-Tech, its really coming together mate!

Good luck sorting out the KW issues, looks like they maybe sent the wrong springs with the kit?

Buddy of mine has the V3 in his Ee9 and never had such issues.

Ill ask him!

koshir
14.03.2010, 20:11
EE9 has probablly a lot heavier rear end than ED9.
I checked the spring on car and springs on KW site and numbers match this kit. :|

15.03.2010, 17:02
That's a general Problem of KW V3. I got one in my EG6 and the height was like stock... Then i bought me KW V3 for the EE and installed it yesterday. It got bit lower but not that good.

then they are missleading people with their specifications !!!

I will get to the bottom of this thing and then write on all forums that I visit great review about their suspension and their customer support, 7days and nothing from KW technical support...
suspension costs 1500€ and that is what you get from them...:-o:-o:-o

15.03.2010, 17:19
if I understand this right,
at rear it should be 300mm min and 330mm max and I'm nowhere near 330mm from hub center I'm way up and set on low...

Dude that's by all the KW Suspensions. I was really shocked after the installation. I looked and there was really no difference between stock and KW V3. The front is very good. You can lower it very good.

As i said i installed yesterday the version for the EE that is shorter then the one for the EG. It was better but i'm not satisfied.

I know think about to buy me shorter springs for the rear...

http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/5718/dsc0003xt.th.jpg (http://img687.imageshack.us/i/dsc0003xt.jpg/)

We finally started with engine build, right now I'm waiting for ARP rod bolts to arrive and then I'll put the fidanza flywheel on and take crank and flywheel to machine shop to get it rebalanced again.

Also waiting for parts from www.race-technology.com (http://www.race-technology.com) that will be great addition to AEM parts.

And this is how it looks right now

http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/4018/2010101001.jpg

so what's new,
we took apart engine, all parts are allready on shelf (crank, pistons etc) and since we're doing rebuild I'm already in contact with ACL performance for their race bearings kit, also got the ARP rod bolts.

Also decide to go with F1 chromoly fylwheel since it's the closest in weight to Toda, Spoon and Jun flywheels which are best on the market for track cars.

so very soon new photos of engine rebuild...

P.S.: I uploaded lots of new photos of CRX 86' build and this race CRX build on my site www.hondaaddict.com (http://www.hondaaddict.com)

... sice this bottom end needs to much money to put in...

now I'm looking for B18C block that I can put these pistons in and do all the work in it as it was done on this B16A2

but on the other side I got something to be happy about

"An electronic group is almost complete with the new parts from RACE TECHNOLOGY (http://www.race-technology.com) ! (Added one photo of how the AEM and RACE TECHNOLOGY parts will wire up with "AEM ECU adapter" from race technology.) "

http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/1249/racetechnology001.th.jpg (http://img246.imageshack.us/i/racetechnology001.jpg/)
http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/4125/racetechnology002.th.jpg (http://img230.imageshack.us/i/racetechnology002.jpg/)
http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/5130/racetechnology003.th.jpg (http://img264.imageshack.us/i/racetechnology003.jpg/)
http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/7743/racetechnology004.th.jpg (http://img200.imageshack.us/i/racetechnology004.jpg/)

I'm already gathering material for B18C R bottom end.

so...

new parts arrived for B18C R.

F1 Racing Flywheel similar weight to Toda Flyhweel, didn't want to go too light cause crank will get some shaving too.

http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/7746/f1flywheel0002.th.jpg (http://img705.imageshack.us/i/f1flywheel0002.jpg/)

http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/9762/f1flywheel0003.th.jpg (http://img832.imageshack.us/i/f1flywheel0003.jpg/)

next package will include:
- Toda timing belt for B18C,B16B (the one I have for B16 will be sold)
- B18C R engine

and then:
- ACL bearings
- Toda oil pump gear if I'll have enough money for it ;)

and so on...

That's it for now ! :)
